This pivotal role will support children and families to overcome barriers to learning, wellbeing, and attendance, ensuring every child is given the best possible chance to thrive. The successful candidate will: Act as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL), working closely with the Headteacher and DSL. Build strong, trusting relationships with families, particularly those who are hardest to reach. Provide early intervention and tailored support for families experiencing challenges such as financial hardship, domestic violence, and mental health concerns. Deliver therapeutic interventions for children, supporting positive behaviour and wellbeing. Work closely with the SENCo and external agencies to support children with additional needs. Conduct home visits, improve attendance, and signpost families to appropriate services. Empathetic, approachable, and able to build positive relationships quickly. Experienced in safeguarding, child protection, and multi-agency working. Confident in supporting children with social, emotional and behavioural needs. Organised, resilient, and able to manage a varied and challenging workload. Part time may be considered for the right candidate. Essential qualifications and training include: GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths. DSL training (or willingness to undertake).
