Security Advisor
Our client, a leading entity in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a Security Advisor specialising in Access Control to join their team on a contract basis for 12 months. Based in Barrow with hybrid arrangements, this role offers a unique opportunity to be part of critical security operations within the submarine solutions business unit.
Key Responsibilities:
* Coordinate and execute security tasks based on relevant policies, standards, procedures, and best practices of the assigned workstream.
* Respond to and maintain records of security incidents, escalating where needed.
* Provide regular reports on security activities to inform decision-making at more senior levels.
* Support security investigations through the provision of information.
* Maintain personnel security and access control processes and procedures to assure the integrity of BAE employees.
* Provide advice and guidance on routine security queries for the business area.
* Advise and train others, with support from senior colleagues, in routine security procedures.
* Raise security awareness among employees in the local area through inductions and model behaviours that reflect the organisation's values.
Job Requirements:
* Experience in admin within a security context, particularly in defence.
* Good knowledge of personnel security, information security, cyber and IT security, cryptographic management, and asset protection.
* Understanding of legislation and regulations related to the assigned business area.
* Proficiency in written and verbal communication.
* Good working knowledge of MS Office applications.
* Appropriate entry-level Security qualification from a certified body, where relevant.
* Ability to achieve and maintain required SQEP for nuclear security and safety baselines if necessary.
