One of my local government clients are currently recruiting an experienced Complaint Investigator on a temporary basis. This is a 3-month minimum contract with the possibility of the role being extended further to work Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm. Hybrid working role were, however, you will be required to attend the office 2/3 times a week. Overview: * To investigate complex complaints made under the Council’s Corporate Complaints process * To investigate and respond to enquiries made by the Local Government Ombudsman (LGO). * To carry out investigations in line with the Council’s overall vision, values and strategic aims, ensuring that excellent customer service is delivered. * To provide a high quality service in terms of clerking and providing advice to the Tenancy and Leaseholders Arbitration Tribunals in accordance with the legal framework, Tribunals Rules and Procedures. * Act as lead officer to departments on the management of complaint investigations and arbitration hearings Responsibilities: * Lead complex investigations under the Council’s Corporate Complaints procedure and draft high-quality responses. * Respond to enquiries from the Housing Ombudsman and Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman. * Provide expert advice to departments on complaint handling, promoting best practice and service improvement. * Identify learning from complaints and work with senior managers to implement positive change. * Act as clerk and adviser to Tenancy and Leaseholders Arbitration Tribunals, ensuring compliance with legal frameworks. * Support and deliver training on complaint investigation, compensation policy, and tribunal procedures across the council.
