Responsibilities
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will work closely with the commercial team to ensure sustainable and profitable project delivery. Your role will focus on minimising risks, maximising opportunities, and ensuring the successful completion of commercial and contractual aspects while contributing to the company's long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities:
General:
* Perform commercial functions as directed by the Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor (QS).
* Ensure adherence to internal governance and compliance procedures.
* Work within pre-defined budgets and practice cost-conscious decision-making.
* Support the work-winning and bid preparation team when required.
Cost Management:
* Prepare accurate cost and value analysis in collaboration with your line manager.
* Assist in the preparation of project budgets.
* Perform on-site measurement of assets and resources.
* Work closely with site teams to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.
* Update, maintain, and manage high quality commercial records.
* Keep cost data accurate and readily available.
Value Management:
* Support the development and implementation of strong, transparent change control processes.
* Assist in pricing and valuing project variations.
* Prepare interim and final subcontract accounts alongside interim project measurements.
* Prepare and reconcile sundry accounts for project-related costs.
Qualifications
Essential Experience:
* Familiarity and experience working with NEC3 or NEC4 contracts.
