Our Pathology service covers a range of disciplines, providing 12 million test results per annum in Blood sciences (haematology, transfusion, biochemistry, immunology) and cellular sciences (microbiology, cellular pathology, and mortuary & bereavement services). We promote career development pathways throughout the team at all levels. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new post within our pathology team. We seek a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to assist the Quality team in preparing data and minutes for internal meetings, planning management meetings, and performing administrative duties as directed. The successful candidate will support the Quality Manager and Pathology departments in maintaining the Quality Management System, ensuring standards such as UKAS are met.
Main duties of the job
1. Assist the Quality Manager and departments with administration and maintenance of the Quality Management System, ensuring standards like UKAS, HTA, MHRA, and ISO 15189 are met.
2. Support staff at all grades with administration related to accreditation, quality assessment, record keeping, data collection/input, meeting support, and documentation for the Quality management system (Qpulse).
3. Use Microsoft Office packages and be trained in Pathology laboratory information systems to support document control and non-conformity reporting, understanding their integration into Trust IT systems.
4. Travel independently across Durham and Darlington sites to support cross-site working.

Job Responsibilities
* Support the Pathology department as part of the Quality team to maintain regulatory standards.
* Manage record keeping, data collection/input, meeting minutes, and activities related to the Quality Management System (Qpulse).
* Assist meeting chairs in action follow-up and documentation, communicate effectively with staff including medical and senior management.
* Work according to departmental SOPs and policies.
* Train staff at various levels/grades and work autonomously under the guidance of the Quality Manager.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Minimum of 3 GCSEs or equivalent at Grade C or above, including English.
* Educated to at least NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration or working towards it, or equivalent knowledge/experience.
* Desirable: NVQ 2 CLS, Science and/or Maths GCSE Grade C or above, IBMS Certificate of Achievement Part 1.
Experience
* Clerical and reception work.
* Desirable: NHS laboratory experience, laboratory experience, public interaction experience.
Special Requirements
* Ability to travel independently across sites.
