We are the largest independent builders’ merchant in South East Wales.

A builders’ merchant is a company which supplies materials to the construction sector.
Up to 85% of the built environment you see around you is supplied by Britain’s builders’ merchants. Merchants and the supply chain are crucial to the construction industry which contributes over £40 billion to the UK economy each year. A career in this essential commercial sector can be challenging, varied and rewarding.
Key responsibilities
* Counter sales and related administration.
* Booking goods in and out, using point-of-sale terminal.
* Customer service, dealing with customers in person and on the phone.
* Merchandising and price labelling.
* The role requires excellent selling skills, customer service and team‑work skills with an understanding of building materials, stock control, orders, deliveries and pricing. Computerised point‑of‑sale training will be given.
* Uniform and Boot money allowance.

Essential skills & experience
* Building Material Knowledge.
* GCSE Maths (minimum grade C) and English Language with good numeracy and keyboard skills.
* Confident communicator with proven team work skills.
* Naturally tidy and organised.
* Willingness to engage with customers and provide good customer service.
* Ability to follow instructions and work unsupervised.
* Reliable, industrious, adaptable and quick to grasp new concepts.
* Manual handling up to 25kg.
* Good knowledge of building materials and their usage.
* An interest in sales and in the construction industry.
