Primary Care Mental Health Nurse Band 6 (Part time 29.12 hrs – 0.8)
Midlothian Health and Social Care Partnership are developing new roles to support the Mental Health Strategy 2017-2027 and the Primary Care Improvement Fund.
The role of Primary Care Mental Health Nurse will provide mental health assessments and interventions to individuals with mild to moderate mental health problems in GP practices across Midlothian.
* Deliver a range of mental health assessments, interventions and support within primary care settings.
* Work as part of an integrated services team, promoting the integration agenda.
* Provide compassionate care, analyse needs and formulate care plans.
* Respond to urgent mental health needs and coordinate with secondary services when required.
* Travel throughout the service area to support GP practices and community settings.
Qualifications and experience required:
* Registered nurse (RN) with experience in mental health nursing.
* Excellent assessment skills and the ability to solve problems.
* Good team working skills, flexibility and professionalism.
* PVG Scheme membership (or ready to obtain) for the required regulatory group.
* Non‑Medical Prescribing qualification would be advantageous.
