Momentum has been exclusively assigned by a leading UK manufacturer of injection moulded parts to recruit a Managing Director who will have full P&L responsibility for a business with a T/O of £20m+ and 150+ employees.
The role is being recruited as the current MD will be moving to a subsidiary group business once a new MD is appointed.
Known for delivering high-quality plastic components to clients across the automotive, medical, consumer goods, and industrial sectors, the Managing Director will take full responsibility for the leadership, development, and performance of the business. You will be instrumental in driving operational excellence, developing strategic partnerships, and ensuring the continued delivery of high-quality products to our UK customer base.
Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the overall operations of the business, including production, engineering, quality, sales, and finance.
* Develop and execute strategic plans to drive revenue growth, profitability, and market expansion.
* Ensure world-class operational performance using lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, suppliers, and industry stakeholders.
* Drive innovation in materials, tooling, and manufacturing processes.
* Foster a culture of quality, safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
* Manage budgetary planning, financial reporting, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
* Report directly to the board and provide regular updates on business performance.
Profile of candidate:
* Proven experience as a Managing Director, General Manager, or senior leader in a plastics manufacturing environment.
* Strong financial acumen and experience with full P&L responsibility.
* Track record of developing high-performing teams and leading organisational change.
* Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement practices.
* Excellent strategic thinking, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
* Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related discipline
