Position summary
X 2 Shift Operative vacancies. The role requires the completion of all production tasks including, but not limited to, inspection, packing, boxing, labeling and the operation of production machinery. The post holder will be responsible for manufacturing the products in accordance with the standard work procedures and completing manufacturing documents. This position requires employees to rotate weekly on a 6:00-14:00 & 14:00-22:00 shifts, Monday – Friday.
Duties
* Operate production machinery to produce the business range of products on a range of machinery.
* Carry out all manual packing/boxing activities.
* Perform and document product inspection.
* Perform safety checks on forklift trucks and operate the forklift trucks.
* Undertake workplace good practice to keep the work area clean and tidy.
* Safely use mechanical aids such as manual pallet trucks.
* Understand and follow the organization’s Quality Assurance systems; update out-of-date or incorrect processes when required.
* Undertake training/personal development to enable competent performance of tasks.
* Deputise for the supervisor when requested and provide support across production departments as needed based on business requirements.
* Support established lean objectives and participate in lean activities to support business goals.
* Train co-workers to the required standard and demonstrate manufacturing processes as needed.
Education
* High School Diploma or GED
Required Experience
* Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent and/or demonstrable experience in a manufacturing environment (minimum 1 year).
* Basic computer skills.
* Ability to work as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision (self-starter).
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Ability to work within health and safety guidelines as laid out by management.
* Ability to operate machinery once trained.
* Ability to perform repetitive tasks at pace to achieve targets.
* Ability to read, understand and complete quality documentation.
* Demonstrates initiative and a proactive approach.
Preferred Experience
* Knowledge of lean manufacturing.
* Basic computer skills in MS Office and manufacturing programs.
* FLT (Fork Lift Truck) License.
