Job Description:
We are searching for an experienced Finance Systems Accountant with essential Workday configuration experience for an 18-month FTC in Manchester.
Overall job purpose
The successful candidate must have at least 3 years of Workday configuration experience, including a full implementation cycle for Workday Financial and Financial Planning. They should possess enthusiasm, an agile and commercial mindset, and in-depth systems and accounting knowledge to decode complex requirements into configured solutions.
The role involves working closely with internal finance colleagues and supporting a team of Business Analysts and Subject Matter Experts to develop finance configuration designs covering R2R, O2C, P2P, and Payroll, as well as other requirements and interdependencies.
Responsibilities
* Manage the configuration of Workday Finance and Financial Planning modules.
* Evaluate and propose adaptations for optimal configuration.
* Build strong relationships with stakeholders.
* Identify risks and recommend solutions.
* Contribute to Workday training content for SMEs and internal specialists.
* Collaborate with the wider project team, especially within the Functional Design Stream.
Professional and Personal Qualities
* Minimum of 2 years of Workday implementation experience (including FINS).
* Qualified accountant or qualified by experience.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

* Strong IT skills, especially in Microsoft applications; experience with data manipulation and automation software is a plus.
