job Title: Administrative Officer - HMCTS Via Brook Street
Location: Hendon Magistrates' Court, North London- working fully onsite 5 days.
Salary: £14.75 per hour Pension & Holiday Pay
Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary (6 months, potential to extend)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (37 hours/week)
We're hiring an Administrative Officer to join a Government client's team based in Hendon, supporting operations for Harrow Crown Court. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience within the public sector and make a difference in the justice system.
What You'll Be Doing:
1. Supporting the Judiciary and the Clerk team with case bookings and administrative tasks
2. Handling and processing sensitive legal documents using internal IT systems
3. Liaising with judges and senior stakeholders
4. Scanning, uploading, and managing case files and databases
5. Managing schedules, serving court documents, collecting fines/fees
6. Fully office-based (no remote work)
What We're Looking For:
7. Strong IT skills - confident using Word, Excel & case management systems
8. Excellent communication - both written and verbal
9. must have experience working in an Admin role.
10. Well-organised with a sharp eye for detail
11. Able to work independently and manage tasks efficiently
12. Previous admin experience (legal or public sector is a bonus - training provided)
13. Important: Successful candidates will be subject to a thorough background and clearance check, including Criminal Record Checks (DBS Checks), Reference Checks (Employment, Education, and any gaps) covering the past three years, as well as Address checks for the past five years. This process may also include obtaining character references and/or other evidence to cover periods of unemployment.
