Are you an experienced Controls & Electrical Design Engineer with a passion for automation and problem solving? We’re looking for a motivated and detail oriented engineer to join our growing team, working on a variety of industrial automation projects from retro fit systems to full-scale machine builds.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Designing and specifying control systems and safety components for industrial automation equipment.
* Producing electrical schematics, layout diagrams, and terminal/wiring plans using AutoCAD Electrical (or similar).
* Creating technical documentation, including specifications, process flow diagrams, and control system architecture plans.
* Collaborating with Design and Applications Engineers to deliver high quality project documentation on time.
* PLC and controls programming for automated systems.
* Liaising with suppliers and coordinating components as part of overall project delivery.
* Supporting the assembly, wiring, and fitting of electrical panels and machinery.
* Performing electrical testing and fault-finding during machine builds.
* Assisting with commissioning and integration at customer sites in the UK and overseas.
* Supporting existing control systems and delivering upgrades where required.
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
* 3+ years’ experience in a similar role within industry.
* Proficient with AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent electrical design software.
* Proven experience in electrical panel layout and design.
* Familiarity with industrial control systems and safety protocols.
* Working knowledge of communication protocols such as Profinet, EtherNet/IP, TCP/IP, OPC, IO-Link, etc.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and a methodical mindset.
* Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
* Highly organised and able to meet deadlines.
Desirable:
* Degree (2:1 or above) in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
* Knowledge or experience in robotics.
* Full UK driving licence.
