Generator Engineer (Large Sets)
Location: Bristol
Salary: £40,000 per year
Hours: Full-Time
We’re looking for a skilled Generator Engineer to join a busy workshop supporting large generator sets (500 KVA+). This is mainly a depot-based role, with occasional site visits. You’ll be part of a team ensuring the preparation, testing, maintenance, and repair of generators is done efficiently and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Service, maintain, and repair large generator sets, ensuring manufacturer service schedules are followed.
* Assist in the yard with loading, offloading, and general equipment handling.
* Drive forklifts when required.
* Re-book generators into stock.
* Carry out servicing and repairs off-site as needed.
* Participate in an engineer call-out rota (currently 1 week in 8) after training.
* Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following Health & Safety guidelines.
Skills & Experience:
* Relevant qualifications in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Diesel Fitting, or Plant (City & Guilds, BTEC, or equivalent), or equivalent experience with generators or large diesel engines.
* Full UK driving licence (towing categories preferred).
* Forklift licence advantageous (training available).
* Workshop experience is a plus.
* CSCS card preferred (training can be provided).
* Strong team player with the ability to work independently.
