About the Role
As a proven professional you will be required to provide strategic analysis on the CO2 regulations in all markets that Changan plan to operate, report latest trends on regular basis and assist our headquarter on CO2 mitigation strategies.
Requirements
* BS/MS or above in Science/Engineering or a related discipline.
* Minimum of three years’ R&D experience in relevant industries.
* Good understanding of CO2 regulations around the world.
* Experience in regulation trend analysis and engagement with regulation authorities is preferable.
* Automotive industry experience is also preferable.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Provide in-depth analysis of global CO₂ and “dual carbon” regulatory landscapes, with a focus on European and UK developments.
* Deliver regular status reports on CO₂ regulation trends, including emission standards, CBAM, and carbon footprint requirements.
* Support the development and implementation of the company’s CO₂ mitigation and compliance strategies in line with global regulations.
* Manage compliance work related to carbon credit accounting, trading, and verification across Europe.
* Oversee vehicle and battery carbon footprint calculation, lifecycle assessment, and disclosure, and support ESG-related carbon reporting.
* Develop and improve carbon management processes, procedures, and internal control frameworks to enhance data accuracy and compliance efficiency.
* Help define and develop new products that meet CO₂ regulatory requirements worldwide.
* Work closely with relevant UK and EU governmental bodies and NGO organizations to gain insights into policy evolution and industry trends.
* Act as Changan UK’s representative in the UK and EU on CO₂-related matters, ensuring effective external communication and advocacy.
Other Features
· Primary location will be at Birmingham Business Park.
· Travel may be required but depends on project requirement.
