Jackson Hogg is delighted to be recruiting for a Senior or Principal Engineer to join a leading engineering consultancy specialising in offshore, subsea and energy‑sector projects. You will lead advanced analytical work, support junior engineers, contribute to commercial activities, and drive continuous improvement across simulation and design methods. This is a client‑facing role with varied technical responsibilities, and we are particularly looking for someone with strong hydrodynamic knowledge and experience in the design and analysis of subsea hardware.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior or Principal Engineer will:
* Lead and deliver complex engineering analysis projects, particularly dynamic simulations and structural assessments.
* Develop intelligent, cost‑effective engineering solutions and participate in preparing client proposals.
* Produce clear, high‑quality technical reports and present findings internally and to customers.
* Mentor and guide junior engineers, supporting their development and ensuring technical quality across project teams.
* Collaborate closely with internal specialists across FEA, CFD and digital engineering to deliver integrated solutions.
Key Requirements
We are seeking a Senior or Principal Engineer with:
* A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
* Strong experience in offshore, subsea, dynamic analysis, or structural simulation environments.
* Proficiency with tools such as OrcaFlex, ANSYS, or equivalent engineering software.
* A solid grounding in structural mechanics, hydrodynamics, or offshore operational environments.
* Proven ability to lead projects, communicate effectively, and deliver high-quality engineering outputs.
* Experience in engineering consultancy environment & exposure to programming/scripting tools (e.g., Python/MATLAB) are advantageous.
