We are partnering with a growing technology organisation to hire an Infrastructure Engineer who can play a key role in designing, delivering, and supporting robust IT infrastructure across both internal and customer environments. This role would suit someone who is hands‑on, organised, and eager to broaden their technical skill set, with exposure to networking, automation, virtualisation or cloud technology.

Role Overview
As an IaC focused Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining essential IT infrastructure across organisational and customer environments. You’ll work on hybrid solutions, ensuring reliability, security and scalability, with a keen interest in automation and tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Chef or Puppet.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, implement and support IT infrastructure solutions (physical and virtual)
* Maintain and troubleshoot systems to ensure optimal performance
* Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver secure and efficient solutions
* Develop scripts and automation tools to streamline infrastructure management
Required Skills & Experience
* Automation & Scripting: Familiarity with IaC tools and scripting languages such as Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell, Python or Bash
* Networking: Strong understanding of networking technologies and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
* System Administration: Experience with Microsoft and Linux environments, including deployment, backup, patch‑management and vulnerability management
* Experience with modelling and design in a large‑scale information system context (e.g., MODAF, TOGAF)
* Knowledge of Windows Server (Active Directory, OU, user and group management)
* Experience with underlying virtualization or cloud platforms (e.g., VMware ESXi, AWS, Azure)
* Knowledge of containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) and monitoring tools (Elasticsearch, Kibana)
Job Requirements
* Hands‑on experience administering, configuring, and managing private‑cloud solutions across multiple sites
* Ability to manage site‑to‑site failover and replication, and to understand RPO and RTO for backup solutions
* Experience in traffic management, networking in secure private‑cloud environments
* Understanding of hardware redundancy and high availability
* Experience troubleshooting and optimising performance of private‑cloud solutions
* Strong documentation skills for all infrastructure elements
* Administration of Windows Servers
Desirable Skills/Experience
* Knowledge of VMware vSphere ESXi
* Knowledge of Atlassian Suite and Concourse pipeline administration
* Experience with network health monitoring and Concourse pipeline administration
* Experience with Docker/Kubernetes orchestration and Helm charts
* Experience with containerisation and orchestration in a production environment
* Experience building enterprise‑level web applications or services
* Experience with Apache Kafka
* Experience in privacy‑sensitive environments (e.g., defence, public sector)
