Overview
My client is a leading UK law firm with offices spanning across most of the larger cities in the UK, and is looking to hire an Employee Relations Specialist to join their wider HR team on a 6 month contract basis.
Responsibilities
* Manage complex ER issues, such as performance, capability, employee grievances, disciplinaries, flexible working, absence, discrimination issues and workplace concerns.
* Ensure that ER investigations are conducted thoroughly and fairly whilst supporting and coaching Partners and line managers on appropriate behaviours and process.
* Support the HRBPs to drive organisational performance by advising on employee success plans (performance management) and creating clear, realistic and measurable objectives.
* Proactively maintain and apply current knowledge of UK employment law, communicating any upcoming changes and new policy developments to the HR Director and wider business where appropriate.
* Work closely with HR and Quality and Risk colleagues on the application of SRA rules, regulatory investigations and the design and maintenance of processes to support regulatory obligations.
* Track ER activity against metrics, support and advise on themes and put forward recommendations.
* Continuously improve, update and interpret HR policies, processes, letter templates, including HR Practice Notes and Line Manager Guidance notes, ensuring accuracy, compliance with SRA regulations, and alignment with UK legislation changes.
* Provide support on organisational change initiatives including restructures, redundancies, TUPE, and changes to terms and conditions of employment.
* Participate in key People / ER related projects as appropriate.
Qualifications
The Employee Relations Specialist will have extensive HR experience gained within a financial or professional services environment, at Specialist level. They will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and communicate using various platforms. You will have resilience and be able to advise at senior level, manage complex and sensitive matters and advise on best practice.
