Job Title: Compliance Officer for Legal Practice (COLP) Department: Compliance & Risk Location: Liverpool Reports To: Managing Director / Senior Partner Employment Type: In-Office/Full-Time About Us We specialize in civil litigation and consumer claims, with a core focus on housing disrepair and tenancy deposit claims. The Role As our COLP, you will be a key leader responsible for all aspects of the firm's compliance and risk management. Your primary objective will be to ensure all operations meet regulatory requirements, particularly those of the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), while embedding a strong culture of ethical practice firm-wide. Key responsibilities include: Developing, implementing, and enforcing compliance policies and procedures. Serving as the main point of contact for the SRA and other regulatory bodies. Leading risk identification, assessment, and mitigation activities. Designing and conducting regular audits and internal investigations. Fostering a culture of compliance through firm-wide training and guidance. Managing and ensuring the proper handling of client complaints in accordance with protocols. Qualifications & Experience We are looking for a candidate with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a regulated legal environment. The ideal candidate will be a UK-qualified solicitor or legal executive with the following: In-depth knowledge of SRA Standards and Regulations. Familiarity with AML, GDPR, and data protection laws. A proven track record in risk management and compliance audits. Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
