The Role This role sits within the widerEirGridGroup, which includes SONI andEirGridplc, andoperatesacross the Single Electricity Market (SEM) for the island of Ireland. EirGridGroupoperatesand develops the electricity system across Ireland and Northern Ireland, playinga central rolein the transition to a low-carbon energy future. Through the SEM,operatedjointly by SONI andEirGridvia the Single Electricity Market Operator (SEMO), energy can flow efficiently across the island and into European markets. The Operations & Asset Management function is central to delivering real-time and near-time system and market operations on a 24/7 basis across the island. As aSenior Controller (Settlement), you will play a key role in operating settlement processes, ensuring timelines and KPIs are met in line with the Trading and Settlement Code. You will work collaboratively across SONI andEirGridteams, engaging with colleagues and market participants to support efficient,transparentandaccuratemarket operations. Key Responsibilities Support the Team Lead in coordinating and managing day-to-day settlement processing activities Provide subject matter and analyticalexpertiseto resolve escalated operational issues Investigate and respond to formal and general queries from market participants within agreed timelines Monitor settlement activities to ensure compliance with procedures, codes and KPIs, acting as an escalation point whererequired Collaborate with other Senior Controllers to support business processes across settlement activities Plan and coordinate tasks and projects to support settlement delivery and improvements Identifyrecurring issues, update procedures, and contribute to process and documentation enhancements Support the development,trainingand coaching of team members Participate in testing activities within the Settlements function Produce andmaintainoperational and market reports, including daily reports, MOUGsubmissionsand periodic internal/external reporting In cases of significant material impact, make recommendations to management and support implementation of agreed actions Critical Knowledge,Skillsand Experience Essential: Third-level qualification (or equivalent) in Business,ITor a related discipline Minimum 3 years experience in an administrative, operational, or business environment Strong numerical,analyticaland problem-solving skills Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly (written and verbal) Proven ability to build andmaintaineffective relationships with internal and external stakeholders Strong attention to detail witha high levelof accuracy and quality focus Ability to work collaboratively within a team, with a flexible and proactive approach Desirable: Experience working in a regulated environment Knowledge of settlement processes, market codes,proceduresand systems within electricity markets Experience in process improvement, reporting, or operational optimisation Why join us?
