Leaving Care Solutions (LCS) is seeking committed and enthusiastic Residential Childcare Support Workers to work on a casual basis, covering shifts as needed. This role offers flexibility with no contractual obligations, allowing you to work the hours you can commit to.
Our mission is to make a positive and lasting difference to young people who have been in care and are moving towards independence. We provide accommodation and support for young people to achieve independence and educational success.
As a Residential Childcare Support Worker, your role involves delivering a responsive, personalized, and high-quality service to young people in their individual flats or shared houses.
Young people supported by Leaving Care Solutions are vulnerable. You are responsible for ensuring that the environment is safe, welcoming, and healthy.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
* Working according to person-centered risk assessments and support plans, and liaising with support workers for effective handovers.
* Monitoring behavioral changes, documenting, and reporting support needs.
* Maintaining positive relationships with young people, colleagues, and professionals through effective communication.
* Providing continuous support, focusing on safety and well-being.
* Carrying out health and safety tasks, including cleaning, following policies and procedures.
* Coordinating with external agencies such as police and Emergency Duty Teams.
* Supporting young people attending hospital or police stations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
* Experience supporting vulnerable young people.
* Flexibility to work weekends and varied hours.
* Possession of or willingness to obtain a Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma, Children and Young People's Workforce qualification, NVQ Level in Health & Social Care, or equivalent.
* Full driving license and access to a vehicle, as travel may be required.
