At VANRATH, we are delighted to be partnering with a highly respected organisation in the manufacturing/construction sector, based in Antrim, to recruit a talented and experienced HR Advisor to join their growing Human Resources team.
This is an exciting opportunity to take on a broad and hands-on generalist HR role, supporting all aspects of the employee lifecycle within a dynamic and people-focused environment.
The Role
Reporting to the HR Manager, the HR Advisor will play a pivotal role in delivering operational HR support across recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training, and policy development. You will act as a key point of contact for managers and employees, ensuring best practice HR delivery that aligns with legislation and company values.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage end-to-end recruitment and onboarding, delivering an exceptional candidate experience.
2. Provide advice and support on employee relations matters including disciplinaries, grievances, absence, and welfare.
3. Assist in coordinating training and development initiatives, including apprenticeships and graduate programmes.
4. Manage the leaver process and conduct exit interviews.
5. Support performance reviews and development planning through appraisal systems.
6. Maintain and update HR systems (e.g. PeopleHR), and ensure all employee data is recorded in line with GDPR and internal standards.
7. Contribute to the review and implementation of HR policies, delivering training to line managers where needed.
8. Provide accurate advice on terms and conditions of employment and general HR queries.
9. Assist in labour market benchmarking and contribute to employee engagement and retention strategies.
Candidate Profile
Essential Criteria:
10. Minimum of 3 years' experience in a generalist HR role.
11. Proven background in recruitment, employee relations, and training delivery.
12. Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
13. Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills.
14. Highly organised with the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
15. High degree of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism.
16. Strong IT skills and experience with HR systems.
17. Willingness to travel occasionally as required.
Preferred:
18. CIPD qualified (Graduate level).
19. Experience in the manufacturing, construction, or engineering sectors.
