Residential Support Worker – Newark, Nottinghamshire
We are seeking dedicated Residential Support Workers to join a trusted charity that supports vulnerable young people through home‑based care. The role involves working with children and young people aged 5–18 who have experienced severe childhood trauma linked to exploitation, neglect, domestic violence, and abuse.
Key responsibilities include:
* Provide one‑to‑one support to help young people understand and process their trauma.
* Partner with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
* Maintain rigorous safety and record‑keeping procedures during all hours of service.
* Work flexible hours, including 24‑hour shifts, overnight sleep‑ins, alternate weekends, and extended evening duties to ensure safe handover and bedtime routines.
* Engage in ongoing supervision, reflective practice, and training to support continuous professional development.
Qualifications and personal qualities desired:
* Strong passion for working with vulnerable children and a 100% commitment to placing their needs first.
* Flexibility to endure long hours, weekend work, sleep‑in shifts, and occasional extended duties.
* Self‑reflective and honest personality, capable of managing personal life struggles and compartmentalising work responsibilities.
* Previous experience working with young people is beneficial.
* Willingness to engage in regular supervision and training.
