The Role
As a Traffic Light Operative (TLO), your main role will be installing, repairing, and removing temporary traffic lights. This tends to be working on behalf of their hire customers some of whom will be contracted for long-term works, while others will be working more reactively in response to things like emergency utilities works or road-traffic accidents. The nature of these emergency works means hours will vary. This can involve weekend work and night work.
Your Main Responsibilities Include
Working on-site Traffic Management plans.
Basic fault finding and resolution of company equipment.
Signal maintenance and battery exchanges.
Adhering to all company policies, procedures, and safe methods of working.
You will promote a positive company image whilst at work, wearing company-branded PPE.
The operative roles are fast-paced and active. There certainly won’t be a dull day! Applicants for the role should bear in mind
that the batteries in the traffic lights weigh 23kg each, so there is a lot of manual handling involved day-to-day. It’s important
to mention they continue to invest in EHSQ to ensure that the whole team works safely throughout and are ROSPA Gold winners.

So, what does a good operative look like? To succeed in this role, you will need to be:
Super organised to help you keep on top of your workload.
Fantastic communicator to keep your teammates and customers in the loop.
Flexible and adaptable, keep calm under pressure, and multi-task as the day’s requirements and task list evolve.
Punctual and reliable. We need to know that you’ll turn up and get the job done for their customers you are the face of the business, and their reputation is key!
Energetic and enthusiastic! If you’re looking for a desk job this is not for you! You will certainly burn a few calories.
Experience And Qualifications
Full Current Manual Driving License is required as you will have a company van/truck, which will be taken home at night. A safe place to park is essential.
Desirable
A previous role in maintaining or operating temporary traffic systems.
A previous electrical background would be beneficial.
You must have the right to work in the UK, we will also complete a driving license background check on your initial call if selected.

Operatives can earn substantially more through overtime, on-call shifts, and three levels of training.
Company van + fuel card (for work use)
25 days holidays + (bank holidays after probation)
Training is split into three levels and is linked to pay.
