As a Preoperative Assessment Care Support Worker, you will play a vital role in ensuring that all patients undergoing clinical procedures at KIMS Hospital are safely and effectively assessed prior to admission.
You will be a strong and empathetic Care Support Worker with a passion for preoperative assessment and a commitment to delivering healthcare at its best. This role is ideal for someone with previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant, Care Assistant or Support Worker.
This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week, with shifts between 07:45 – 20:15, Monday to Friday, and Saturday mornings on a rota basis.
Role Responsibilities
* Monitoring patients’ conditions, including taking temperatures, pulse, respirations and weight prior to clinic appointments.
* Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient care records
* Talking to patients to help reduce anxiety and provide reassurance
* Treating all patients with respect and dignity while maintaining privacy and confidentiality
* Supporting nursing staff within the Pre-assessment Clinic
Person Specification
* A caring and compassionate attitude
* NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
* Enthusiastic with a genuine interest in caring for people
* Able to demonstrate high levels of mental resilience in a changing and often challenging environment
* Highly committed, with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times
