Due to continued growth, we are now seeking a number of apprentices to join the team within the Grimsby Business Unit.
As a multi-disciplined service provider, we support local industry and infrastructure from our facility in Sheffield with a range of unique rotating machine services; with specialist support available for the Oil and Gas, Marine and Renewables, Water markets.
The activities undertaken by our Mechanical Fitting department are diverse and challenging, covering all aspects of the manufacture, repair, and refurbishment of highly complex machines.
Key Responsibilities & Accountability
The role offers the opportunity to get involved in all aspects of mechanical engineering processes within the rotating machines industry, including machine shop activities, balancing, and mechanical fitting. You will gain experience and find your niche in these areas.
Your responsibilities and potential duties upon completing your apprenticeship may include:
* Producing components using hand fitting techniques
* Repairing and refurbishing mechanical assemblies
You will attend lectures, practical workshops, and visits as per the training providers learning plan. Additionally, you will be taught general machining skills.
Qualifications, Experience & Personal Attributes
To be successful, candidates need a minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grade C/5 or above, including Mathematics, English, and Science.
The successful candidates will commit to a 4-year apprenticeship starting in September 2025, which includes a 6-month block release at AMRC (Sheffield) and day release for the remainder of the apprenticeship.
Accommodation via the University can be provided and covered by Quartzelec if required during block release.
