Senior Benefits Strategy Consultant (Team Lead)

1. Mercer Marsh Benefits (MMB) is seeking a mid/senior level colleague to join the Benefits Strategy Consulting Team to lead a team of consultants reporting directly into the Benefits Strategy Consulting Leader for the UK.
2. As a Senior Strategy Consultant & Team Lead, you will play a crucial role in delivering comprehensive Benefits Strategy services to all our clients. Collaborating closely with clients, you will provide expert insights and strategic recommendations on all aspects of benefits program design, helping them navigate major changes and achieve their objectives. Your responsibilities will include executing strategic and management consulting projects. The role will be London-based, although we offer hybrid working in line with the rest of the Marsh McLennan Group

We will rely on you to:
5. Take full ownership and accountability for delivering comprehensive Benefits Strategy services to MMB clients.
6. Collaborate closely with clients to develop and implement major changes in their benefits programmes.
7. Engage key stakeholders on a wide range of employee benefits, including Health, Risk, Pensions, Lifestyle and Culture.
8. Provide expert insight and strategic recommendations on all aspects of the benefits program design.
9. Execute strategic and management consulting projects aligned with client requirements, utilising services such as benchmarking, workforce profiling, engagement, benefit alignment, DEI lens reviews, sustainability, market research, provider reviews etc.
10. Lead strategy workshops, roundtable sessions, and thought leadership discussions with clients and colleagues, providing valuable insights and facilitating strategic decision-making opportunities across all stakeholders.
11. Collaborate and present Benefits Strategy enablement sessions and wider updates in company town hall meetings, effectively communicating to a wide audience.
12. Prepare sales proposals, service schedules, and actively participate in sales pitches and client pre-sales meetings.
13. Collaborate with the team leader to enhance the Benefits Strategy proposition, drive revenue growth, and ensure proactive portfolio governance.
14. Assist the team leader in identifying business development opportunities to generate new bookings and revenue.
15. Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Benefits Strategy proposition, sharing insights and best practices with the team leader and the wider team.
People Management Experience and Responsibilities:
16. Lead and manage a team of consultants and associate consultants effectively, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to team members.
17. Set performance goals, conduct performance reviews, and ensure the team's overall success.
18. Promote a positive team culture, facilitate knowledge sharing, and ensure seamless collaboration among team members.
19. Drive revenue growth, identify business development opportunities, and support the team's sales and revenue targets.
20. Provide coaching and mentorship to new and existing colleagues, run enablement sessions, and support induction days for team members.
21. Collaborate with the team leader to ensure effective team coordination, resource allocation, and project management.
22. Support the team leader in monitoring and evaluating team performance, providing feedback, and implementing improvement initiatives.
23. Support the team leader in developing and implementing the team's overall strategy and vision.
What you need to have:
24. Previous experience in managing a team
25. Proven track record of successfully driving team performance, fostering a positive team culture and developing the team
26. Relevant consulting business experience with comprehensive knowledge across all employee benefits and wider reward strategy.
27. Ability to deliver and drive strategy related conversations across all stakeholders at all levels.
28. Strong financial and commercial acumen, including fee negotiation skills.
29. Proven consulting and relationship management skills.
30. Solid technical, product, and process knowledge.
31. Achievement and sales-oriented mind-set.
32. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.
33. Ability to deliver in high-pressure and fast pace environments
