Building Services Mechanical Design EngineerLocation: Milton KeynesSalary: £40,000+ (depending on experience) Experience: 3+ yearsAbout the RoleA well‑established building services consultancy in Milton Keynes is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with a minimum of three years’ experience. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys delivering high‑quality mechanical design solutions and wants to grow within a supportive, forward‑thinking team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop detailed mechanical building services designs, including HVAC, ventilation, heating, cooling, and public health systems.
2. Produce technical drawings, specifications, and design reports using industry‑standard software (AutoCAD, Revit, IES, Hevp).
3. Carry out system sizing, load calculations, and energy modelling.
4. Attend design meetings and collaborate with clients, architects, contractors, and internal teams.
5. Support projects from concept through topletion, ensuringpliance with UK regulations and CIBSE standards.
6. Conduct site surveys, inspections, and progress reviews.
7. Contribute to sustainable design strategies and low‑carbon solutions.
8. Provide guidance to junior engineers when required.
Skills & Experience Required
9. 3+ years’ experience in mechanical building services design.
10. Strong understanding of UK building regulations and CIBSE guidelines.
11. Proficiency in Revit MEP, AutoCAD, IES, or similar design tools.
12. Strongmunication and report‑writing skills.
13. Ability to manage workload and work independently or collaboratively.
14. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent).
15. Working towards chartership (CEng) is a bonus.
