Teaching Assistant (Autism) Full time Newham Immediate Start SANZA Teaching Agency are seeking an experienced teaching assistant for a primary school in Newham. The school has a provision for students aged from reception to year 6 with Autism. The students have high needs- most are non- verbal and some require personal care (help with toileting etc). They can display challenging behaviour. As a teaching assistant supporting with Autism, you will: Provide daily support to students with Autism Facilitate the child's communication and language development through alternative communication methods Collaborate closely with the class teacher and the SENCO to plan and adapt activities to meet the pupil's specific needs Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for the pupil, promoting their social integration with peers Establish and maintain effective communication with parents, providing regular feedback on the child's progress Requirements: Relevant experience supporting children with Autism Understanding of pre-verbal communication methods and strategies Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and the ability to adapt them to meet individual needs Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents Next steps: Click &#...
