At Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust, our Recovery Support Workers are essential to ensuring the smooth operation of our Recovery department and delivering high-quality care in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
As a valued member of our recovery team, you will assist clinical staff, organise and maintain equipment, and help create a seamless experience for patients recovering after surgery. Your supportive and flexible approach will be key in managing the flow of equipment throughout our busy theatre complex.
This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills within a modern acute theatre environment. We will provide hands-on training and ongoing development to support your success in this vital role.
We seek enthusiastic, motivated, and adaptable individuals eager to join a dynamic team committed to outstanding patient care.
To equip you with the necessary knowledge and skills for safe, compassionate care, you will complete the Health Care Assistant Apprenticeship Pathway, including the Care Certificate, a nationally recognised training framework from Skills for Health. This framework sets standards for care across the UK and is applicable for all new staff entering care roles.
You will work as part of the recovery team, assisting in the safe and efficient care of patients within the operating theatres, under supervision of qualified theatre personnel.
You will be responsible for maintaining and cleaning the recovery environment in accordance with Trust policies, infection control standards, and departmental guidelines.
Your duties will include supporting patients and assisting staff with tasks such as positioning patients and handling equipment, which may require manual effort and physical stamina.
You will need high concentration skills and the ability to adapt to unforeseen circumstances during patient recovery.
Applicants must submit proof of their qualifications. If obtained overseas, a Statement of Comparability from UK ENIC is required to clarify how your qualifications align with UK standards. More information can be found at ENIC UK.
