Job Summary

We’re looking for an experienced, enthusiastic Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our innovative, integrated Neurodiversity Team. This is an exciting opportunity for professionals passionate about supporting our developing Neurodiversity Pathway model.

Our pathway provides specialist assessment and short‑term intervention for children, young people, and their families where needs relate to neurodevelopmental conditions, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Tics and Tourette Syndrome.

You’ll be part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team, working closely with colleagues across pathways and in partnership with local paediatric services, education providers, and other agencies. If you’re motivated, collaborative, and committed to making a meaningful difference for neurodivergent children and young people, we’d love to hear from you.

Important Information Regarding Service Changes

We are currently entering into a formal consultation process to move all Children and Family Health Devon (CFHD) staff to a single provider. As part of this process, staff currently employed by Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust will transfer to Devon Partnership NHS Trust on 01 April 2026. Please note that this may result in some differences in recruitment documentation and processes during this transition period.

Responsibilities

* To conduct high‑quality, specialist assessments to better understand the needs of neurodivergent children and young people.
* To provide good quality evidence‑based, time‑limited interventions to children, young people and their families.
* Offering clinical supervision to the wider team when required, fostering a collaborative and supportive working environment.
* To provide guidance, advice, and training to colleagues, families, and partner agencies through consultative work. Your expertise will promote a unified and cooperative approach to supporting neurodivergent individuals.
* To maintain informed with the latest research and best practices in the field of neurodiversity.

We aim to create an environment where children and young people can thrive and are committed to reducing health inequalities and providing specialised support, empowering them to lead healthy, fulfilling lives.

Our Children and Young People Say

We would like the people who work for Children and Family Health Devon to be understanding, patient and respectful. They should be trustworthy and make us feel safe and comfortable.
