A warm and inclusive primary school in Westminster is seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a student with special educational needs (SEN) starting ASAP. Role Highlights:
* Full-time, permanent position at a welcoming primary school in Westminster
* Provide 1:1 support to a student with SEN, including learning difficulties, autism, or other special needs
* Assist with individualized learning plans (ILPs), ensuring the student’s needs are met and supporting their engagement in class
* Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to develop and deliver tailored learning activities
* Foster the student’s social and emotional development, helping them build confidence and independence
* Provide support with behavioural challenges, using positive reinforcement and tailored strategies
* Monitor the student’s progress, providing regular feedback to the teacher and SENCo
* Create a safe, inclusive environment where the student feels supported and encouraged
Experience & Qualifications:
* Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, preferably in an SEN setting
* Experience working 1:1 with children with SEN (such as autism, ADHD, learning difficulties)
* Strong understanding of special educational needs and the strategies to support students in their learning
* Patient, caring, and empathetic nature, with a commitment to helping students reach their potential
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff and parents
* Enhanced DBS check required
