We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Lead Occupational Therapist to join our Adult Services team in the East Riding of Yorkshire. The successful candidate will provide a client-centred approach to supporting individuals with complex disabilities, helping them to achieve their maximum level of independence and functioning within their own homes.
Occupational Therapy interventions will focus on:
Adapting the environment to meet client needs
Modifying tasks and activities to promote independence
Teaching essential life and coping skills
Educating clients, families, and carers to eliminate environmental barriers and enhance daily livingKey Responsibilities
Undertake comprehensive functional assessments for clients with complex physical and social needs.
Lead and support a team of Occupational Therapists and support staff to deliver high-quality, outcome-focused interventions.
Recommend and facilitate the provision of specialist equipment and home adaptations.
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including health, social care, and voluntary sector partners.
Contribute to service development, clinical supervision, and mentoring of junior staff.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and documentation in accordance with professional and service standards.Essential Requirements
Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
Current HCPC Registration
Proven experience in a senior or lead role within community or adult social care settings
Strong assessment, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary teamDesirable
Experience working with housing adaptations and Disabled Facilities Grants
Supervisory or mentoring experience
Knowledge of local authority systems and proceduresWhy Join Us
