About the role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic Lecturer to join our growing Architecture team. Courses include Level 3 T Level Design, Surveying and Planning, Level 3 Architecture/Interior Design and to Level 5 Architecture and Interior Design qualifications from BTEC/Edexcel/Pearson in Construction and the Built Environment.
You will possess at least a Level 5 or degree in a construction area, to enable you to teach design on our Built Environment/Architecture BTEC and HE courses. You must have experience gained in the design area of the industry. You will be joining a friendly and supportive team, and with many training and development opportunities and scope for promotion within the college, you will be embarking on a varied and rewarding career. We will support you to develop your career in teaching, including fully funding the teacher training qualification.
Deliver high quality teaching and learning to a timetable that may include evening, Saturday and summer periods
1. Deliver inspirational teaching and access to learning across a range of programmes, and to learners with a range of ages and abilities.
2. Provide teaching and assessment opportunities in line with the relevant awarding body requirements to promote access to achievement.
3. Develop and maintain teaching materials including handouts, assignments, booklists, assessment papers and electronic resources.
4. Prepare Schemes of Work and Schemes of Assessment.
5. Undertake the necessary administrative tasks required for the effective operation of programmes in the area.
6. Carry out moderation/assessment and verification.
7. Work with colleagues to integrate maths & English into the vocational curriculum.
Undertake tutorial responsibilities
8. Act as a course tutor with responsibility for supporting learners in achieving their targets.
9. Track and review student progress and maintain student records.
10. Provide feedback on progress to the students, parents/guardians, and employers.
11. Arrange and support the work placement programme.
Assist in the recruitment and admission of new students
12. Assist in recruitment and admission of new students.
13. Attend both internal and external promotional events to publicise College and Department activities as directed by the Head of Department.
14. Contribute to the compilation of publicity materials.
Qualifications:
15. A Level 5 or degree in Construction and The Built Environment area.
Related Experience:
16. Substantial, recent and relevant industrial experience.
17. Recent experience of Lecturing or training others in the workplace.
18. Current awareness of Further education qualifications in the area.
Special Circumstances:
19. Evenings and Weekend work may be required
20. Must be able to travel independently to other centres operated or staffed by the College
