Located in a picturesque South Downs village, this beautifully restored 16th-century pub combines historic charm with modern comfort. Popular with locals and visitors alike, it offers high-quality seasonal food, a welcoming bar, stylish guest rooms, and a relaxed, community-focused atmosphere—making it a fantastic place to work, grow, and be part of a passionate team. The company has a real passion for training and developing all of their staff and are looking for a talented Sous Chef to join their kitchen brigade. The group have a range of pubs across Hampshire, each with its unique style and menu, tailored to fit in to its local market and bespoke to its customer base, however the service, attitude and knowledge of all their staff will be the same in any of their pubs you might visit. We are looking for someone who has developed the fundamental skills in a kitchen and is looking to develop their career in a busy but friendly kitchen. You will: * Work as a senior member of the kitchen team, following the guidance of the Head Chef part of a team of up to 10 chefs KP's * Work closely with the Head Chef and General Manager to implement the goals for the business * Introduce new menu ideas and add specials on a regular basis * Work across all kitchen sections delivering fresh, seasonal British dishes * Liaise with the Front of House team to ensure smooth running of service times * Complete mis-en-place and services as per rota * Contribute special dishes that meet with the customer expectations As part of this kitchen team you will look to develop new skills from experienced chefs and have the opportunity to develop your career with a well-established and well respected company. We are looking for someone who: * Is willing to work as part of the team * Has gained experience in a professional kitchen, ideally within a gastro pub or restaurant environment * Is hands-on and able to cover various sections in the kitchen This position has some excellent opportunities and a very strong kitchen team who are able to manage high volume service numbers.
