Provides respiratory care to patients in varying states of health and illness by assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the respiratory plan of care. The Respiratory Care Educator functions as an essential member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team, providing direct patient care, instruction and preparation for continuing care after discharge and supports the clinical education and training needs of the department. Minimum Education Graduate of an Associate Degree Level CoARC accredited educational program for Respiratory Care. Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Care or related Health Science field preferred. Minimum Work Experience 5 years Respiratory Care Practitioner experience. Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Strong knowledge and skills related to clinical respiratory practice. Knowledge of adult education principles. Demonstrated commitment to education as a methodology for promoting continuous quality improvement in the delivery of patient care and skills. Effective, timely and respectful oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated proficiency in all aspects of respiratory care in both inpatient and outpatient areas.
