Education Support Officer - Inclusion & Wellbeing, Waverley Court
Salary: £57,429 - £62,022
Hours: 35 per week
The Education Support Officer will work across the local authority to develop, implement and deliver on the policies, procedures and practice that support the inclusion and wellbeing of all Edinburgh's children and young people in education.

Responsibilities
* Collaborate with children, young people and families, schools, third sector partners and key agencies (Social Work, Police, NHS) to develop policies and procedures, curriculum, learning and teaching, quality assurance, professional learning, and use of data for improvement related to inclusion and wellbeing.
* Support the implementation and monitoring of legislation, regulations, and policies to ensure compliance with Additional Support for Learning (2009) legislation and entitlements.
* Support the development of self-evaluation, quality assurance and performance indicators to ensure that all children and young people in the City of Edinburgh Council are supported to be present, participating and achieving in their education.
* Assist in evaluating and continually improving practices to promote inclusion and wellbeing across settings.
Contract and conditions
This is a 52-week contract. The successful candidate will be entitled to take annual leave throughout the year.
Salary will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
Pre-employment checks and requirements
* This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.
* If an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required.
* An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to satisfactory completion of these pre-employment checks.
