Wood is currently recruiting for an Asset Planner to join our Operated Assets Service Line.
The Operated Assets Service Line is an exciting and expanding area of our business, providing critical operations services to the energy sector – including duty holder, managed service, late life, Decom and TAR delivery.
The position will be dedicated to our SAGE Duty Holder contract based at St Fergus Aberdeenshire. The position will require a minimum of 3 days per week based on site and two days offsite, either home based or within our Head Office in Aberdeen.
Reporting to Site Manager / with functional to Project Controls.
We can offer a permanent staff contract for this role but may also be able to consider a PSC contract.
The role:
The Asset Planner is an integral part of the Asset team and plays a pivotal role in ensuring that all asset work aligns with the asset integrity and production objectives.
The Asset Planner is the custodian of the Planning Gate Entry Process, ensuring all work scopes meet readiness criteria before entering the integrated plan and prior to execution. Working closely with the site construction team and operations, the role maintains a single, integrated plan spanning construction, maintenance, shutdown/turnaround, brownfield projects, and contractor activities. The role ensures safe, efficient delivery through disciplined planning, rigorous readiness checks, and proactive coordination of resources, materials, permits, and SIMOPS.

Most of our contracts have been built over long term relationships which has allowed us to extend and re-win contract agreements – our secured pipeline of work is extremely stable for the next 3 years and continually growing

8. Extensive planning & scheduling experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or heavy industrial sites.
9. Demonstrable experience with Primavera P6 (advanced) and MS Project; strong Excel.
10. Practical knowledge of work management processes, PTW systems, SIMOPS, isolations, and construction readiness.
11. Experience / understanding of planning & scheduling work activities to meet resource levels and asset priorities.
12. Experience in integrated planning for turnarounds, brownfield construction, or complex maintenance.
13. Familiarity with ERP (., SAP PM/MM or equivalent) for work orders/materials.
14. Demonstrable experience of adapting to /dealing with change and the coordination of multi-function/discipline teams.
15. Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills.
Desirable:
16. Exposure to Earned Value Management (EVM), SRA, and baseline governance.
17. Understanding of engineering deliverables (P&IDs, isometrics, GA, ITRs, ITPs).
18. Knowledge of QA/QC, welding/NDE planning, commissioning sequences.
19. Professional certification (APM, PMI-SP, AACE, or equivalent).
