Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Pay Rate: £90 - 120 Per Day
Location: Walsall
Start Date: As soon as possible
Hours: 8.30 - 15.30
Duration: 2025/2026 Academic Year
Smart Education are working with a Secondary Academy located in the heart of the Midlands, located just outside of Birmingham, in Walsall. This school is looking to appoint a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join them from as soon as possible for a role working in their SEND resource base that will run through to the end of the academic year 2026 initially.
The role will see the successful SEN TA taking on a 1:1 support role working with pupils who have received a statement. Pupil behaviour can be challenging though there is a hugely supportive staff team that work to provide the best possible environment and experience for these pupils.
The successful applicant will ideally be an experienced SEN TA with Key Stage 3/4 experience who is passionate about supporting and working with pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds, who are looking to overcome their challenges. This SEN Teaching Assistant role will see you taking on the role for the remainder of the academic year and potentially next academic year and beyond.
Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 support for pupils with statements in the SEND resource base.
* Support pupils across Key Stage 3/4, with a focus on those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
* Collaborate with the SEND team to create and implement individual support plans.
* Monitor pupil progress and behaviour, reporting to the appropriate staff as required.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant, with KS3/4 experience preferred.
* Passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs and helping them overcome challenges.
