Main duties of the job
To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible forthe provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering anexcellent standard of clinical care. Furthermore, the post-holder will adhereto the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effectivemanagement of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive,collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.

Job responsibilities
The following are the core responsibilities of the salariedGP. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this willbe dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
* a. The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population
* b. Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance
* c. Effective management of long-term conditions
* d. Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals,repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks
* e. On a rotational basis, undertake telephone triage and duty doctor roles
* f.Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunctionwith good practice, policy and guidance
* g. Working collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practiceworkload
* h. Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and theaudit process
* i.Contribute to the successful implementation of continuousimprovement and quality initiatives within the practice
* j. Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area(or areas) or the QOF
* k. Attend and contribute effectively to practicemeetings as required
* l. Contribute effective to the development andmaintenance of the practice including; clinical governance and training
* m. Ensure compliance with the appraisal process
* n. Prepare and complete the revalidation process
* o. Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professionaldevelopment across the practice team
* p. Support the training of medical students from all clinical disciplines
* q. Support the Executive management team in achieving the strategic aims ofthe practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure
* r. Review and adhere to practice protocols andpolicies at all times
* s. Encourage collaborative working, liaising with allstaff regularly, promoting a culture of continuous improvement at all times
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Qualified GP
* MRCGP
* Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP
* General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training CCT)
Clinical Knowledge & Skills
* Outstanding level of clinical knowledge and skills commensurate with that of an experienced GP
* Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
* Clear, polite telephone manner
* Competent in the use of Office and Outlook
* Effective time management (Planning & Organising)
* Ability to work as a team member and autonomously
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Problem solving & analytical skills
* Ability to follow clinical policy and procedure
* Experience with audit and able to lead audit programmes
* Experience with clinical risk management
Eligbility
* Full GMC Registration
* National Performers List registration
* Appropriate defence indemnity (MPS/MDU)
* Eligibility to practice in the UK independently
Experience
* Experience of working in a primary care environment

* Minimum of two years as a salaried GP
