Director, Product Management
The Director, Product Management role is a key member of the global Middle Office Product team, with core responsibilities as follows:
Product Management
* Manage an EMEA based team of senior Middle Office product Managers
* Ownership of product components advised from time to time by Global Product Head
* Define Middle Office requirements for Funds products, including operating model, sales and pricing strategy, marketing and brand adherence
* Identify opportunities for product improvement and differentiation, efficiency and standardisation, scalability and drive process improvement
* In conjunction with IT, align the Funds Middle Office product architecture and design to the IT architectural blueprint.
* Design and maintain global product definition documentation and relevant elements of sales collateral for Middle Office elements of Fund products.
* Establish and maintain relationships with key senior individuals in the market, for example with relevant industry bodies, regulators, consultants, competitor organisations, software vendors, data vendors and appropriate other third parties. Use input to contribute to product development and product management processes.
* Provide thought leadership both internally and externally through promotion of best practices, interaction with trade publications, speaking on public trade forums.
* Make approved Middle Office presentations directly to Funds clients at User Groups, and in response to specific requests from global sales & marketing to represent middle office product elements at client meetings.
* Maintain an awareness of market and competitor developments and position and differentiate the middle office offering, globally, relative to the competition.
* Preparation and delivery of periodic reports within set deadlines in relation to the performance of the middle office product
* Adhere to HSBC governance principles including FIM, business acceptance committees and funds value stream.
Market and Product Strategy
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of a strategy and associated roadmap for Middle Office globally in a cohesive fashion.
• Identify new and enhanced global product opportunities, providing input to Middle Office product strategy initiatives.
Operating Model
• Design, maintain and enhance global operating models for Middle Office components of Funds Services products, maximising the benefits available from global CoE's and regional Hub and Spoke structures.
• Build a scalable and global processing and IT infrastructure for middle office components thereby
• maximising cost efficiencies. Contribute to the design, maintenance and enhancement of the global operating model for Middle Office, maximising the benefits
Commercial
• Prepare product costing dynamics as relevant to Funds pricing strategies in respect of Middle Office cost base allocations. Support STAMP
• Work with operations to ensure cost estimates provided for deal are accurate and fair. Challenge operations should this not be case.
• Develop a knowledge of the market rates for which the Middle Office service is provided.
• Prepare business cases for projects, change initiatives, new product launches
Brand and Markets
• Ensure products are delivered in adherence to HSBC brand guidelines.

Qualifications
• A high quality degree level education - desirable
• Knowledge of Middle Office Product and its Operating Model as well as commonly used market platforms (i.e. DTCC, Markit, Calypso, Acadia...) - desirable
• Significant operational experience in financial services, specifically middle office processing - desirable
• Demonstrated experience in leading Middle Office implementation and transformation, automation and digitalisation projects - desirable
• Experience of working in a large scale and complex Middle Office change environment - desirable
• Experience and working knowledge of systems implementation lifecycle and testing methodologies - advantageous
