This is a great job opportunity for a Community Housing Assistant to join Home Groups awesome housing team in Yorkshire. As our Community Housing Assistant (CHA) you’re part of the face-to-face customer support to our communities. If you like variety, meeting and supporting customers, and want to develop a career in housing, then this is the perfect job for you!
Typical day as our Community Housing Assistant
* You’ll support our housing managers to look after their patches and through this, help us to improve our local neighbourhoods.
* You’ll support with tasks such as estate inspections, engaging and meeting with contractors on site, liaising with local authorities.
* You'll lead on areas of work such as Compliance appointments, tenancy reviews and obtaining quotes and orders for estate needs.
* You’ll carry out and record the routine safety and compliance checks in our buildings and communities.
* Using Salesforce and Power BI, you’ll assist with management of admin, updating tenancy records and communicating with customers and colleagues.
* Through visibility, engagement with customers and proactivity on our estates, you’ll really get to get to know our communities.

You bring
* A “can do” positive attitude, you’re proactive and well organised, able to work on your initiative.
* The ability to work alone on tasks as well as part of a team, with an eye for detail, and a consistent, methodical and accurate approach to tasks.
* A real passion for delivering excellent customer service and a genuine desire to help your customers.
* Confidence working collaboratively with colleagues in other parts of the business and external partners
* An understanding of housing management, housing law and universal credit would be ideal, but they’re not deal breakers!
* The ability to use technology to navigate our systems and update customer records
* An appreciation that this is a role where you’ll spend much of your time lone working in our local estates.

Job details
* This is a hybrid role and in an average week, you’ll spend 2-3 days working around our communities in Yorkshire.
* Although you’ll spend time in our neighbourhoods, we do get together occasionally for team meetings across the region.
* There may be some flexibility to adapt your working hours, do let us know about this when you meet us at the interview.
* We mainly work Monday to Friday and work occasional evenings to meet with customers. The great news is that you’ll be able to shape your own diary.
* To get from A to B, you’ll need a vehicle insured for business purposes, and can claim back mileage.
* You’ll need a Standard DBS check done and we pay for that.
