GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join schools in the Stanley (WF3) area. As a SEMH TA, this role is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to make a genuine difference in the lives of children and young people, providing both academic and emotional support in the classroom.
Responsibilities as a SEMH Teaching Assistant:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
* Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing in and outside the classroom.
* Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management.
* Help pupils build confidence, resilience, and social skills.
* Support with personal development and encourage a positive outlook towards learning.
Requirements for SEMH Teaching Assistant:
* Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs is desirable.
* Strong behaviour management and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to remain calm and adaptable in challenging situations.
* A nurturing and empathetic approach to supporting pupils.
* An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
* A CV covering the last 10 years of employment, with gaps explained.
