Role Overview
Our Advanced Materials division at the Duxford site is a centre of excellence for innovation, technical leadership, and sustainable manufacturing. We are hiring an NPI Lead to drive the successful introduction of new chemical products and formulations from concept to commercialisation. We are looking for someone who combines deep technical knowledge with strong project leadership and cross‑functional collaboration skills. You’ll be the driving force behind seamless product launches, ensuring every aspect – from lab trials to full‑scale production – is executed with precision, safety, and efficiency.
Role Responsibilities
* Leading and managing multiple New Product Introduction (NPI) projects from feasibility to full production.
* Acting as the single point of accountability for product introduction across all stages: concept, development, scale‑up, qualification, and handover.
* Applying chemistry and process engineering expertise to assess formulations and scale‑up feasibility.
* Supporting technical trials, validation, and data analysis to optimise process design.
* Ensuring all pre‑launch readiness elements are completed, including documentation, raw material approvals, quality plans, and EHS/PSM assessments.
* Overseeing first production runs and resolving initial performance or yield issues.
* Driving collaboration across R&D, Operations, Quality, Procurement, and Commercial functions.
* Implementing EHS/PSM procedures and supporting site HAZOP studies.
* Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance manufacturability and reduce cost.
* Ensuring compliance with internal standards, EHS regulations, and customer requirements.
Experience and Competencies
* PhD or MSc in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or relevant discipline.
* Proven track record managing NPI or technology transfer projects in chemical, materials, or manufacturing sectors.
* Ideally 5+ years in laboratory, production, or process development roles, preferably in a multinational company.
* Knowledge in organic, polymeric, and epoxy chemistry; understanding of chemical production processes.
* Strong analytical and conceptual thinking.
* Knowledge of reaction kinetics and modelling.
* Proficiency in analytical methodologies and statistical principles.
* Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and project planning skills.
* Ability to influence without direct authority and build effective cross‑functional relationships.
