Location: East Grinstead, West Sussex Daily Rate: Circa £100 (dependent on experience and qualifications) Working Hours:
* Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 08:45-16:00
* Wednesday: 08:45-16:30
* Friday: 08:45-15:30
Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with complex emotional and communication needs? We're recruiting for a full-time Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in East Grinstead that provides a therapeutic and nurturing environment for learners aged 7-19. The school's approach is rooted in holistic development, focusing not just on academic progress, but also on personal growth, wellbeing, and social confidence.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored support to students with social, emotional, and communication difficulties.
* Work closely with teachers to deliver engaging and accessible learning experiences.
* Help maintain a calm and structured classroom environment.
* Assist with lesson preparation, resource organisation, and record-keeping.
* Promote positive behaviour and respectful relationships.
* Uphold safeguarding, health & safety, and school policies at all times.
What We're Looking For
* Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or SEN
* Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable).
* GCSEs (Grade A-C or equivalent) in English and Maths.
* A current driving licence.
* Strong interpersonal skills and emotional resilience.
* Ability to work collaboratively and flexibly within a team.
* Understanding of trauma-informed practice and inclusive education.
