Your new role
Working closely with Finance & Operations, you will lead the finance function, producing accurate and timely financial information to support the school's strategic and operational goals. You will also have the opportunity to manage a small finance team whilst working closely with both support and academic staff.This role offers a varied and rewarding role; some of the key duties will be:
* Lead month-end processes and produce management accounts
* Maintain strong financial controls and oversee reconciliations
* Manage cashflow, banking, treasury and debtor control
* Support budgeting, forecasting and cost management
* Oversee payroll processes, staff benefits and financial HR data
* Prepare audit files and support year-end and statutory accounts
* Drive process improvements across the finance function
* Lead and develop the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable team
What you'll need to succeed
The right individual for this role would be someone who thrives in a varied role, enjoys working with a wide selection of people and values really making a difference within an organisation. Some of the key things we require:
* Fully Qualified ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
* Understanding of accounting within public or third party organisations
* Experience within the education sector - Independent school sector desirable
* Advanced Excel & strong systems capability
* Experienced of producing detailed financial reports
* Excellent attention to detail with a proactive and organised approach
* Confident communicator able to work with non-finance colleagues
* Focused on improvements
