Join JLR as a Technical Specifications Engineer - Exterior Trims.
We are seeking an accomplished Technical Specifications Engineer - Exterior Trims to play a pivotal role in advancing our Body of Knowledge development strategy.
This role involves authoring Technical Specifications (Requirements, Standards, Design Rules, Tests, and Procedures), components DFMEAs, Processes, and Templates documentation. You should be capable of researching and evaluating complex information, creating clear and concise technical documents, and have excellent written communication skills with a keen eye for detail. A good technical understanding of product design & development of injection moulding components is preferred.
You will collaborate with colleagues across the Off-Cycle Squad, Chapters, and Departments, supporting Lead Engineers to ensure proper understanding and application of Technical Specifications, sharing technical information, and coaching your Chapter colleagues when needed.
What to Expect
1. Understand and support the implementation of the Chapter’s long-term vision and strategy.
2. Develop comprehensive Technical Specifications that meet the Chapter’s vision and quality standards.
3. Translate complex technical design information into simple, clear, and polished documents.
4. Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts and colleagues from various Departments to research relevant technical information.
5. Develop, maintain, and improve components DFMEAs, Processes, and Templates.
6. Evaluate current documentation methods and explore improvements for better organization and accessibility.
What You’ll Need
* Technical knowledge of injection moulding components, especially exterior/interior plastic trims (e.g., decorative finishers, grilles, bumpers, claddings, pillar/door trims, dashboards).
* Outstanding written communication skills, with experience in authoring technical documents.
* Understanding of Standards and Procedures related to writing and implementing Standards, Design Rules, and Procedures.
* Strong technical understanding of product design and development of injection-moulding components.
* Ability to quickly learn and understand technical subject matter.
