Location: Coleshill, Birmingham
Hours: 35 hours, Monday - Friday (including off-the-job training)
Salary: £20,000 p/a
Our Apprenticeship programme offers both face-to-face and virtual training to develop the skills and knowledge needed for the role. You will learn from a role model through shadowing and hands-on experience throughout your apprenticeship.
As an Apprentice, you will be fully supported to achieve a nationally recognised qualification by the end of your apprenticeship with Air Liquide. You will attend college, funded by the business, and receive guidance from an experienced team member, learning about delivering outstanding service and becoming an expert in your field. A buddy and assessor will also support you in your daily tasks.
Within the IMS & Technical team, reporting to the IMS & Technical Manager, your responsibilities include preparing and modifying drawings and schematics using computer-aided software and technical documents. Mentoring from design and project engineers will guide your work.
You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to provide accurate and timely design documentation for installations on Customer and Air Liquide sites, including hardware designs and material specifications crucial for safety, reliability, and operational development.
This role will help you develop technical knowledge in pressure systems, material selection, and process design, as well as broader business awareness in operations, commercial, procurement, and finance through cross-departmental interactions.
* Prepare technical documentation: P&ID’s (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams), General Assembly Drawings, drawings for Primary Production and Cylinder filling systems, Material Specifications
* Manage retention and distribution of technical documentation
* Participate in and present at design reviews
* Enhance knowledge of pressure systems, material selection, and process design
* Collaborate with Design Engineers and other departments to gather requirements and develop accurate proposals
