This is an exciting opportunity to work within one of the Cheshire Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) based in Cheshire West.
The Band 5 Education Mental Health Practitioner (CYPWP) will work with colleagues in the Cheshire West MHST based in Chester, collaborating closely with education settings and professionals supporting children, young people, and their families. Our team covers schools in Chester, Northwich, and Ellesmere Port.
The role involves working directly with schools, colleges, and settings, providing information, advice, and guidance through consultation, training, direct work with children and young people and their families, and delivering evidence-based interventions.
Applicants must have professional registration with a recognized National Body (BPS, BABCP) or be able to obtain this within 6 months of the start date. If not registered at the time of application, the successful candidate will be recruited on a 6-month fixed-term contract, which will be extended to 2 years once registration is confirmed.

The post-holder will work within Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Mental Health Support Team (Cheshire West MHST), providing a range of assessment and interventions on an individual and systemic basis under close clinical supervision from experienced staff.
Regular case management and clinical supervision, both individual and group, will be a key part of the role.
The post-holder will be able to deliver a range of 1:1 and group Low Intensity CBT-based interventions for children, young people, and parents/carers.
