The Civil Designer's purpose is to provide the design modeling, drafting, and drawing production for engineering projects with the goal to enhance their personal skill sets and learn the technical aspect of design. Civil Designers work closely within a team, including project managers, project engineers to deliver quality design and permit documents within the budget, scope and schedule of the project. Responsibilities also include creating documents in accordance with company standards, utilizing Warehaus’ current technology. The Civil Designer works under the general supervision of the Project Manager(s) and Project Engineer(s).
Responsibilities:
• Reviews municipal ordinances and prepares ordinance summaries
• Interprets engineering drawings, land surveys, building plans, and municipal ordinances to use as a basis for the design of site elements
• Designs site elements and prepares calculations associated with vehicular access and circulation, parking facilities, site grading, utilities, stormwater management, etc.
• Prepares subdivision, land development, erosion sediment control, post construction stormwater management plans, general permits and HOP plans
• Follows Warehaus organization standards, including file management and drawing asset management
• Maintains accurate and thorough design files for reference purposes
• Manages design projects within allotted timelines and budgets
• Coordinates with subconsultants
• Assists with project closeout
Applicants Must Possess the Minimum Following Requirements:
• Professional experience producing land development plans for commercial, residential, industrial and institutional projects
• Proficient knowledge of stormwater management plans/regulations, E&S plans, etc.
• Proficiency working with Civil 3D
• Experience working with regulatory agencies and handling permitting requirements
• Firm understanding of the land development process
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, but not required.
