Future Build Recruitment are currently working with one of our clients who are looking to grow their finance team with an accounts assistant in their Essex offices. Key Responsibilities: Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Process invoices, payments, and expenses related to subcontractors, ensuring adherence to CIS requirements. Reconcile accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payment and collection of invoices. Manage subcontractor documentation, including verification of CIS details and UTR numbers. Assist with payroll processing, ensuring accurate recording of hours worked and deductions. Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and prepare periodic financial reports. Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis as required. Support with month-end and year-end closing procedures. Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to resolve any invoicing or payment queries. Assist with internal and external audits. Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and company policies. Qualifications and Skills: Proven experience as an Accounts Assistant, preferably within the construction industry. Familiarity with the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) and subcontractor management. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
